Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of the corporation shall be to support, encourage, and assist parents and students who have legally chosen the home education option.Thank you for contacting us regarding home education. We at Northern Nevada Home Schools (NNHS) desire to help you succeed in this endeavor. We, as experienced home educators, would like to encourage you to become a member of our organization so that you and your children may feel supported and encouraged. We hope you find the enclosed information helpful and are looking forward to meeting you at one of our numerous activities.
If you would like to become a member of NNHS please fill in the information below, read the Hold Harmless Agreement, and send it to the above address with your check. If you would like to give a scholarship membership to someone who cannot afford it, your donation is welcome.
The membership fee for NNHS is $20.00* per year for which you will receive:
1. Twelve issues of the monthly NNHS newsletter mailed electronically to you, informing you of field trips, activities, social events, contests, education fairs, clubs, special workshops, etc.
2. Access to the NNHS email discussion list.
3. Notification of special events with possible discounts.
4. Voting privileges and the ability to be involved in the organization.
5. Online Intent forms.
6. A membership card that will entitle you to discounts at area merchants.
*All newsletters will be mailed electronically. If you can not receive your newsletter electronically please contact Patti Poston, NNHS Secretary at Secretary@nnhs.org.If we can be of any further assistance please contact us. Any letter sent to the above post office box will be forwarded to the appropriate board member.

Please read the following Hold Harmless Agreement:By Becoming a member of NNHS I agree to the following:
In consideration of being allowed to participate in field trips or activities, member families agree to indemnify, defend, and hold free and harmless NNHS, whose principal place of business is the City of Reno, County of Washoe, State of Nevada, and each of its members, agents, servants, employees, officers, and directors, from and against any and all actions, claims liabilities, assertions of liability, losses, costs and expenses, including, but not limited to, attorney's fees, reasonable investigative and discovery costs and court costs which in any manner may arise or be alleged to have arisen, or resulted, or alleged to have resulted, from the participation in any field trip or activity, including, but not limited to, any claim or claims for bodily injury or death.This Agreement is intended to cover all acts or omissions of NNHS which may be asserted as the proximate cause of any bodily injury or death.
Standard Membership or Renewal - $20
Note: Memberships or Renewals are due by the 15th of the Month to receive the following months newsletter. NNHS cards are processed at the same time.NNHS Membership Cards are mailed once a month.
