A Tweens and Teens Special Event:

Docent Tour: Explore Van Gogh and the Collections of the Nevada Museum of Art. **Will be followed by lunch at Blue Moon Gourmet Pizza, for those interested.**

When: Friday, June 28th at 10:15 a.m.
Where: Nevada Museum of Art: 160 West Liberty Street, Reno, Nevada 89501 | T (775)329-3333.
What: A docent led tour of "A Real Van Gogh?: An Unsolved Art World Mystery" will be one of the main focuses of our visit. This exhibition revisits the extraordinary story of William Goetz, the famed Hollywood producer, who purchased a painting attributed to Vincent Van Gogh for $50,000.00.  Although it was acquired from a reputable art dealer and deemed genuine by a prominent Van Gogh expert at the time, debate about the painting’s authenticity ignited an art world controversy that impacted U.S. foreign affairs. We will also be touring other exhibits in the museum.
Ages: 10 and up.
Cost: $1.50 per student and $10 per adult for the Museum.  **Cost of lunch is on your own.**

There is a limit of 30 students. When registering, please include the age of each student, as we will need to give this information to the museum, in advance, so they can make the appropriate educational accommodations.

Following our time at the museum, we will be taking a walk around the corner from the museum for lunch at Blue Moon Gourmet Pizza, so the teens and tweens have an opportunity to hang out and get to know each other better. Anyone is welcome to join us there.

Please note that this is a non-refundable event.
